The two pictures of the male (L) & female (R) eye ceres was taken right after they bred. Also note the neck iridescence of the male compared to the hen. Many species which have this type of eye cere shows intensified coloration & enlargement of the ceres during the breeding condition.

Description: Length 25-31 cm.

Voice:

It is proposed that the subspecies: Zenaida asiatica melorda be given separate species status as Zenaida melorda.
