Ringneck: A Handbook of Care & Feeding - Written & published by Wade Oliver. Both new and experienced keepers alike will find great value in the over 100 full-color photographs including photos and descriptions of over 30 different color varieties. Also included is an in-depth discussion on Ringneck Dove genetics by John Fowler. Those new to Ringneck Doves will find the easy to understand care and breeding instructions in this book very helpful
The Guide to Owning a Dove by Nikki Moustaki. An excellent book on many aspects of keeping a dove. A must for all experts & beginners alike. A book with this much information has been needed for a very long time & is destined to become an "authorative icon in the Dove Fancy".
Ringneck Dove Colors by Professor Bob Lockhart; great book about the many different colors found in the Ringneck dove (Streptopelia risoria). Prof. Lockhart's book is available from the ADA.
Diamond Doves, by Jeff Downing; excellent book on this specie of commonly kept dove. Excellent information on the color mutations now being bred. Click on this link to find the link to Jeff's web and how to obtain his book.
Pigeon & Doves of the World by Derek Goodwin; there are three printings of this book. Out of print, but can still found sometimes at Barnes & Noble & Amazon in the rare & out of print sections.
Pigeons & Doves of Australia by H. J. Frith; great book on the native species and several introduced species of doves & pigeons in Australia. Out of print also.
Handbook of the Birds of the World, Volume 4; Dr. Luis Baptista was instrumental in the information of the section on the doves and pigeon species. Great photos of actual species; also great colored plates of drawing depicting the species & subspecies.
A Guide to ... Pigeons, Doves & Quail; Dr. Danny Brown; great book on the species found in Australia including the non-native species in captivity and in the wilds.
Pigeons & Doves by David Gibbs; newest publication out as a guide to the doves and pigeons of the world.
Doves, by Michael Gos, good basic information on keeping the doves. A TFH publication.
Wild Pigeons and Doves by Dr Jean Delacour; good info and touches on some of the more common species kept by fanciers. Also out of print, but sometimes becomes available.
Ecology & Management of the Mourning Dove by Wildlife Management Institute. Excellent book on the native Mourning Dove.
Avian Nutrition by Robert
