In these two pics you will see the color
difference in the sexes of the Luzon Bleeding Heart. Do not confuse the "iris" color with the
"eye cere" color. The "iris" is the "ring of color"
surrounding the black or dark pupil. The "eye cere" is the ring of skin surrounding
the entire eye.

This may not always be accurate or seen by the observer, but it does give the fancier a sexing tip when looking for true pairs (male and females). In all the Luzon Bleeding Hearts I have kept and observed first hand at different breeders this "iris" coloration difference was present in the birds.
