Candling Eggs & Fertility
The pictures below
represent daily stages of a dove's egg fertility that can be checked to verify
if the egg is fertile or infertile.. If the "spider
webbing" of the visible blood vessels cannot be seen after 5 days & the
egg looks clear (see picture below of 11 days incubation of an infertile egg) the egg is most likely
infertile & can be removed. I also have a picture below showing the embryo
as it looks when the egg is chilled (parents abandon the eggs & incubation)
& the embryo begins to die.
I used a bright flashlight under the egg in a darkened room. The numbers (15 &
5) seen on the egg represents another test that was ongoing while these pictures
were taken.
