Range and population
Alectroenas rodericana is known from subfossil bones from Rodrigues, Mauritius2,
and descriptions from Leguat in 1708 and from Tafforet in 17261
. It presumably became extinct in the first half of the 18th century, possibly
due to the depredations of introduced rats1
